Dr. Ashmeer Ogbuchi grew up in Sacramento, California, in a multicultural household that influenced her to focus on ethnic minority clients who face discrimination.

She received a bachelors of science degree  in psychology at University of California Davis. After college, she received a special master’s in physiology at Georgetown University, and attended medical school and residency at Morehouse School of Medicine where she found the psychiatry department to be enthusiastic about education and patient care.

Dr. Ogbuchi has a special interest in substance use disorders and is currently completing an addiction psychiatry fellowship at Emory University.  Therapeutic modalities include medication management, motivational interviewing techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic techniques.
