Currently offering an IOP Eating Disorder Therapy for Adults. All Eating Disorder Groups are Gender Affirming.
We’re thrilled to partner with Best Within You Therapy & Wellness to bring Atlanta a much-needed, evidence-based program for eating disorder recovery based here in Marietta. Our Adherent DBT Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a 14-week curriculum dedicated to providing compassionate, expert care for those facing eating disorders. We offer 2 – 5 day per week options.
Rooted in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), the program equips clients with concrete skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness—offering a structured, supportive environment for deep, lasting change.
Clients typically come to our IOP through a referral from their doctor or eating disorder therapist, by finding us online, or through a recommendation from someone they trust. Our Eating Disorder IOP Program often serves as a soft landing after a full or partial hospitalization, or as a step up in care for worsening self-harming behaviors, eating disorder symptoms, or impulses.
Elevating Eating Disorder Treatment with Unmatched Expertise
Best Within You Therapy & Wellness is redefining eating disorder treatment by offering an unparalleled level of expertise and compassionate care. Unlike many programs that are staffed by interns or graduate students, Best Within You Therapy & Wellness providers are all doctoral-level eating disorder therapists and registered dietitians with thousands of clinical hours and leadership experience in major medical centers. Groups and therapy are led by eating disorder experts who have served as heads of eating disorder programs at institutions like Kaiser Permanente, on eating disorder treatment teams at Northwestern University, and hold board positions with the International Association for Eating Disorders Professionals. Their team brings unmatched qualifications and a deeply personalized approach to every client’s recovery journey.
This exceptional level of expertise, combined with Recovery DBT’s adherent Dialectical Behavior Therapy, brings a first-of-its-kind IOP treatment program to Atlanta based in Marietta.

A Note from Rebecca Leslie, owner of Best Within You Therapy & Wellness
We created this program to be intentionally different. It’s not backed by private equity. It wasn’t formed in a boardroom. We’re not a large corporation. It was fully created by therapists, people who’ve spent years walking beside clients in recovery, who care deeply, and who want to do right by them.
We had countless conversations about what makes a program truly effective, collaborative, and compassionate. We drew from our experiences working at higher level of care programs, very honest feedback from our clients, and feedback from the eating disorder community.
At its core, this program is about people who care deeply, who built this because we’ve seen the gaps, and we wanted to fill them. I fully believe this program and team will earn your trust and that your clients will be deeply cared for by experts in the field.
We’re committed to ongoing dialogue to make this the most thoughtful, effective, human centered eating disorder IOP there is.
Whether it’s assessing medication needs, managing symptoms, or providing regular check-ins, our goal is to support your mental wellness with thoughtful, individualized care that complements the therapeutic work you’re doing each week.
Two - Five Days of Group Therapy
Our intensive program includes two – five days of group therapy per week, blending evidence-based DBT with a holistic approach to eating disorder recovery. We offer both in person and virtual options.
You’ll build core DBT skills to regulate emotions, manage distress, and reduce urges while also exploring body image, relationships with food, and underlying patterns that contribute to disordered eating. Mindfulness and interpersonal effectiveness are integrated throughout, supporting both emotional healing and sustainable behavior change.
24/7 Phone Coaching
24/7 Phone Coaching where you will be able to contact your individual DBT therapist in between sessions when you are experiencing distressing emotions, having high urges or cravings for substances.
The DBT therapist will guide you through your newly acquired DBT skills in the moment to help regulate your emotions and reduce harmful urges.
This will help reinforce and integrate the skills you are learning in the Eating Disorder IOP Group Therapy and have support in between your individual therapy sessions.
Individual one-on-one therapy with a trained DBT therapist & eating disorder therapist
You’ll work with our treatment team to create a personalized plan that addresses the emotional, behavioral, and relational patterns contributing to your eating disorder. Your DBT therapist will help you apply skills like emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness to real-life situations building lasting tools for recovery.
In addition to DBT, you’ll receive specialized care from an Eating Disorder therapist, ensuring both therapeutic and nutritional support.
This integrated, two-pronged approach is designed to support your healing physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Access to Medical Support with Dr. Kara Pepper, MD
Within this Eating Disorder IOP Program, you will have access to Dr. Kara Pepper, MD Georgia’s premier eating disorder physician. She completed her medical education at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and her Internal Medicine residency at Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Pepper’s approach is informed by the Health at Every Size (HAES) philosophy, coaching practices, and team-based care, recognizing the harm that can be perpetuated by traditional healthcare systems.
One-on-One Nutrition Support
You’ll have direct access to a registered dietitian for individualized guidance and support whether you’re facing food-related anxiety, experiencing urges, or navigating unexpected triggers.
Your dietitian will help you apply practical strategies in real time, reinforcing the skills you’re building and supporting your progress throughout the 14 week program.
Psychiatric Support
As part of our comprehensive approach to eating disorder recovery, clients in the Eating Disorder IOP will also have access to ongoing psychiatric support. Our psychiatric team works in close collaboration with your DBT therapist and eating disorder specialist to ensure that your treatment plan is aligned across all areas of care.
Whether it’s assessing medication needs, managing symptoms, or providing regular check-ins, our goal is to support your mental wellness with thoughtful, individualized care that complements the therapeutic work you’re doing each week.
